    Picture ornaments?

Do you have any pretzels (the little twistie kinds?)

Cut A circle on cardboard. Place child's picture in middle. Glue pretzels around in a circle and paint them green. Glue red hots (or red m and ms) on them. Tie a red ribbon it and voila---picture ornament.

It will be especially loved if your kids help you!

We took an old cd(like an old aol one) and made a picture ornament.
~ take cd and trace on paper ( cut out) and then take a bottom of a asprin bottle and trace (cut out circle)
~cut 12" of ribbon. insert into hole and draw up above cd.
~glue the larger circle right on top, trapping the ribbon. and put the smaller on on the back side (shiny side)
~the shiny side captures the light..
and on the front you can glue a kids pic or let them color them.
I hope I explained that okay..

    Grandparent gift album

    Grandma & Grandpa.
    this book is for you,
though it might be quite puzzling
    as the pictures are few.

if you don't make a fuss,
we'll send (give) you more pages
    with pictures of us!

if you don't fuss or groan,
I'll (we'll) send (give) you more pages
of how I (we) have grown!

Rice bags are good -- they can be microwaved for heat therapy, or put in the freezer for cold therapy.

A co-worker of mine and her kids made these last year using deer corn.

What about creating a 2008 photo calendar for them with pictures of the kids and family?

I don't know how much money you wanted to spend, but I found a digital key chain for $12.99. It holds 60 pictures. I preloaded it for my MIL with pictures of the kids. If she leaves it on continuously it will run for 4 hours, then she can plug it into her computer and recharge the battery. Otherwise it has an on/off switch. If you don't mind the price, loading the pictures was really easy, and took me only about 30 minutes to load start to finish.
