Is anyone else just not into Christmas this year?
Or is it just me? I'm really trying to be excited, but for some reason I'm not.

I'm trying really hard to be for Wesley's sake, but it will be really hard for me with Zac being deployed.

Nope, me either, I have no Christmas spirit, with all the things happening in my life I can seem to find joy.

No Christmas spirit here either. Hubby and I just bought a house, and up until we closed this past friday, it seems like life was in limbo. We didn't want to put up a tree if we would be moving in the middle of Christmas break. Now that we finally closed on the house, we have a ton of stuff to do before we can actually move in. The previous owners left the house a mess and we need to clean and do some painting before we move in. Hubby and I haven't had a day off together in forever so it's even harder to get anything done. Some of the lack of spirit comes from work also, they put up their Christmas decorations up before Halloween and I am sick of it. All of this on top of the fact that we have really, really warm weather. It just doesn't feel Christmassy in any way. I bought they boys their presents and wrapped them, but have put up no decorations and have baked no cookies.

I can't think of anything that has ever interested me less than this Christmas.

At this point I feel like Christmas is the LAST thing I need in my life. More obligations I can't meet. I'm not talking about presents.... no, nobody even gets cards. I've taken on so much 'side' work that there is no time to make anything for give-away. Nope. no joy in this season.

This is first Christmas since DH died, so no, I'm not in the Christmas spirit. I have no decorations up, I'm struggling to finish my shopping, and dreading the house-hopping I'll have to do on Christmas Day. The ONLY thing I'm looking forward to is Mass and the Christmas carols beforehand.

Just call me Grinch. However, I'm doing an excellent job acting for the kids. Seriously...I deserve an Oscar for this performance.

I think the month has gone sooooo fast it doesn't seem like it is time for it!!! I have found joy in some pretty simple things this year however....dd is 10 and I've done an advent bag for her....each night she puts up a star and gets a small gift out of her bag, we all gather around to see what she got and watch her open it...she has so loved it that it has put me in a joyful spirit. We also gathered all our Christmas movies and books and have been watching and reading each night too. We have had a bunch of things going on, but I've choosen to find joy in some pretty small things!! Even childhood memories I've shared with my family as they have done with me have made for a special sort of time before Christmas. My dh did something so fun and sweet...he declared it a gift appreciation night a few nights back and took 1 gift from under the tree for all 3 of us and tossed it to us to shake, rattle and roll haha!! We all of course tried to immagine what was inside his gifts!!! Remember the super simple stuff and relish in some tiny light of the magic of Christmas. Happy Holidays, Katy

I am so over the commercialism of Christmas. The same music pounding in my ears everywhere I go, and the not environmentally friendly light displays. Bah Humbug LOL

I've been listening to that
canned Christmas music at work since early Nov, UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH IF I HEAR MISS PIGGY SING THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS AGAIN I MIGHT SCREAM!!!
I'm going SUPER low key this year, in fact might have a nice quiet Christmas eve by myself, I REFUSE to be subjected to my inlaws again, it's been 17 years of HORRID Christmas eves so I put my foot down, told hubby this IS a hill I'll die on, I will NOT go. I won't be mad if he goes but it is not a comfortable atmosphere for me AT ALL. Last year was the TOPPER!!
I got treated like DIRT all evening, then when all the rest left and it was just MIL, hubby and I we had to listen to two hours of HORRID tales of the family and what had happened the last year. THOSE HORRID HORRID other daughters in law, you name it they DID it, cheated, ran hubbies into bankruptcy, and more! YET SHE LET THEM TREAT ME LIKE DIRT!@!! I will NOT be in the same room with them, I wouldn't be able to be held responsible for what would happen
So, nice quiet evening for me, just the critters and peace.

This is exactly how I'm feeling. There has been so much change at my house (4 family members moving in with me) that I am just depleted emotionally, mentally and physically. Plus I have been pretty sick since 11/31. We all agreed that everything would be for the children (ages 8 & 22 months). That will be my joy.
