frugal traditional Christmas foods? :)
Can anyone share some yummy traditional foods your family enjoys each year?
Ok, they dont have to be frugal but thats a bonus if they are.
My friend and I are starting a copy cat Cinnabon tradition this Christmas morning for our families.
I have never had a Cinnabon but they sound great!
Im so glad you all posted about copy catting!
We always have a ham, plus hubbies work gives us all a ham too cook for free
Anything else you cant live without?
I am on the Pantry Challenge yahoo group and the few recipes I have tried were REALLY great!
Thanks if you have ideas to share
PS----There are some advertisements at the bottom of my posts that seem almost racy..grrrr. I realize advertsing pays for this wonderful site.
I am blessed to have frugal village. Dont wanna seem like a griper!
Just wished they matched the adds better to a bunch of frugal housewives ahahahahaha.

We have essentially the same menu every year:
We have FlyLady's overnight cinammon rolls for breakfast
various munchies throughout the day (sausage and cheese tray, veggie tray, cookies, etc....)
Dinner:
Ham
Baked Beans
Broccoli casserole
Cornflake Potato casserole
Deviled Eggs
Cranberry Relish
Rolls
I love it because all of it can be made in advance, so I'm free to enjoy the day and visit with our guests - rather than be tied to the kitchen like I am on Thanksgiving!~Jessica

For breakfast I am making a blueberry french toast bake and sausage. For dinner we're having ham (bought on sale), au gratin potatoes (from the box - for many years I made homemade and then once I made it from the box and everyone thought it was the best - fine with me - much easier!), Broccoli, carrot and cauliflower casserole, peas and onions, pumpkin pie, and cookies.
I think thats it.Laura
