"doesn't feel like Christmas"??
Please tell me I'm not the only one?
I havent felt like it was Christmas since it started?
I'm not sure if its because:
-the weather is unusually warm
-it landed on a Tuesday
-we have had a busier year than normal
We are doing all our normal loved traditions, I enjoy all the pretty decor and activities, events...
But it doesn't "feel like" Christmas to me???????
Has this ever happened to you??

It doesn't feel like Christmas at all to me. We don't decorate our apartment or anything, so maybe that has something to do with it. We figure we'll save all that for when we have a little one. Also I work tonight (at 11pm), most of the afternoon tomorrow (til 2pm) and then have to go BACK (11pm). I am sure that has somethin' to do with it... hard to feel Christmas-y when I am spending it with my client rather than my family.

Me either. It seems like just another day this year. I'm putting up a good front for dd though.

Ok we've figured it out here in our home, over the last 17 years his family has literally sucked all the spirit out of Christmas for us, every year it's drama, trauma and one upping, with hubby and I on the outside and treated like the "dumb farmwife". So, I put my foot down, had a LONG talk with MIL and no more, we're no longer "celebrating" with them.
We're starting new and fresh, new traditions and time alone, what WE need.
No it really doesn't feel like Christmas yet to me and won't really this year, but I'm GOING to build back up to it next year.

Frugalfarmwife, I can noooottttt stand drama, trauma and one upping!
I can totally see why you wanted to put a stop to that.
You know whats weird..... the kids at school start doing it.
Luckily my daughter sees through it, however its draining isnt it?
We felt pressured from some of this garbage from certain school kids. Out of stress I got the those kids gifts.
What was sad is they complained about the gift and then got my daughter a free item they received and told her as much LOL.
How can they complain aboout my $15 gift when they gave my daughter a freebie?
I don't feel comfy pushing this child away yet from my child, I feel bad for her home situation...
The family is wealthy, however, they dont do anything for anyone , just themselves etc..
But what do I do next year?
Do I still get the normal $15 gift, because I did enjoy picking it out for her....Too bad she wasnt grateful....
Maybe this is the sort of stuff that makes Christmas feel less happy, traditional, & spirtual?

I'm so aggravated with the running here and there that I just wont to collapse. For us we celebrate all the holidays with ours and we're not able to have any traditions for ourselves. If that makes any sense. I understand that everyone wants to see the kids but I feel like they do not take the parents into consideration shuffling them here there and everywhere. The kids are always worn out by Christmas evening and we still have another stop then. Bahumbug.

I'm with you on this one too! I actually really cannot put my finger on it, but it doesn't feel "Christmas-y" to me either.

I was feeling great about Christmas...but it's different this year. My sister is separated from her husband and getting a divorce, so she's called me crying and saying how it doesn't feel like Christmas and she's lonely with just her and the kids. My mother has some kind of auto-immune thing so she's been complaining about that all the time. I'm just tired of being everyone's therapist, know what I mean. I just need to focus on having a great Christmas with my DH and just getting throught everything else.
Thanks for letting me vent and know that I'm not alone. =)

I feel the same way. The weather has been unusually warm and rainy. Everything seems to be a chore this year.

I am in the same boat too. The Christmas OOMPH has left me. I like to decorate or thought I did as I pulled out my decorations and put them around but realized that I didnt have the kind of decorations I thought I had nor the proper place to put them. That made me very sad. I did the cards, shopped & wrapped the gifts and baked .... still feeling bah-humbug'ish. I finally get to have a turkey dinner after 2 years w/o one (not even on Thanksgiving
).
Nothing really seems to BOOST or UP my mood like it used to. I did partake in quite a few festivities this year but still nothing. Maybe when I go visit my friends out of town and my godson - this will boost my mood. Even they dont feel festive either.
I hope next year when I have everything done ahead of time and have nothing left to do in Dec I will enjoy it?? Maybe it will be in the budget to decorate more fully? Who knows....bah-humbug!2012: The Year Of The Purge!

I am sorry the bah-humbug has hit your homes. I feel the same way at times. I wish I could sprinkle some Christmas cheer your way to brighten your day.
