Default I am so SICK of Christmas treats!!!!!!!!!!

I am completely 'sugared out". I am so sick of even looking at sweets. We have alot of cake in the month of December b/c there are 4 apes who have birthdays, my parents brought a HUGE amount of homemeade fudge & "trash"(Christmas candy)...now tonight, dd#1 & the rest of the apes will be putting together a gingerbread house & a tree(kits). I hate to think about the eggnog that everyone wants -I'm going to put that on hold for New Year's...and to top our adventure in candyland,I am going to put 2 boxes of candy canes on the tree tonight. This might not seem like alot, but I am so sick of treats.AAAGGGHHH
Glad I have a bunch of kids that will do me the honor of filing it all in the right place(their tummies).lol

Usually by this time of the year I'm ready to eat lots of green salads! You're right-----there comes a time when you just can't take any more sugar.

Hehehe - this year, the recipients of my baked goods got the low cal/low carb/low sugar or splenda version. At first they were kinda sad b/c it wasnt overly sweet but then after a few more nibbles they actually appreciated it!
Carrot cookies and muffins rock!!! But I did put a few sugar cookies in there as well!

This time of year is hard for me (diabetic) b/c all the good treats HAVE LOTS of sugar so I get to take a taste and I have to put it down OR only try one Unfortunately I like to try them all so instead of wasting a portion - I just steal a taste off of everyones desserts!

Its ok - the holidays will soon be over! No more fattening and sickeningly (sp)? sweet treats.

I actually woke up in the middle of the night last night so sick to my stomach I thought I was going to vomit.

Its nothing but fruit & veggies for me today. Some kind of beef for dinner as I always get low on iron around this time of the month.....YKWIM. I'm tossing all of the cookies, muffins, candy, etc.......

I'm diabetic too so my baking has changed dramatically. Since we don't have an extended family I've really cut down on the baking...no more big dinners..just simple favorites & try to keep things as "normal" as possible. When I was a kid the only time we had desserts was on Sunday when we ate at Gma & Gpa's or on a birthday & on Christmas Day. Mom made a chocolate pie....very simple. I made banana bread & a black walnut cake & carmel corn for home & some gifts. I use Splenda for cooking & they never have known the difference...my "ace" in the hole thing!

I have been on an eating binge since Saturday Thank goodness, the junk is almost gone. I left most of it at my Mom's house.

Tomorrow I will make my grocery list, and it's back to eating right. I am the poster child for 'you are what you eat' -- if I eat garbage, I feel like garbage .

I know what you all mean. I'm glad I'm going back to work tomorrow if only to get a way from the junk and back to eating normally!

Ours are finally gone. I'm ready to bake some multi-grain bread and don't think I'll want to see any cookies or candy for a long time!

I sent as much home with folks last night as I could. But kept some because my sons are home and will be looking for some in a couple of days when the 'yuck' has worn off.

Froze a lot of things. But yeah--blech!
