homemade gift ideas - for men
we all know those "hard to buy for" people... and sometimes men can be that way too.
i'm looking for a birthday gift idea (or two) that is homemade.
what are some ideas you've made/done for your special guy?

A few years ago for our wedding anniversary I wrote DH a poem and gave it a nice background(w/computer) and then printed it off on picture paper. Then I had a really cute frame and cut it and framed it in the picture frame.
DH seemed to love it and it was special b/c it was something I made.

One that doesn't cost anything is a book of coupons that he can exchange.
Example: A massage, foot rub, sleep in morning, a week off garbage duty, a week off mowing the lawn, movie night, favorite meal and others I can't mention
, use your imagination
You can print them up on your computer or get creative and make them by hand, cut them out and staple like a coupon book.

How about one of those rice filled bags that can be microwaved and used for various things. A tube filled one for neck pain, small ones to keep in pockets of coat for hand warmers on cold mornings, a 4x6ish size to put in the bed wher you would put your feet on cold days.
These require very minimal sewing skills to make just make sure you use 100% cotton so that it doesn't catch fire in the microwave. 2 minutes or less depending on size is all you need to heat them up.

Wow!
You all have great ideas...
2 wks & counting... I'm getting started.
I love the rice-bag idea... I used to have one a long time ago - but it sorta "disappeared" or something... I may make some new ones... and definitely take a few other ideas (like the romantic moments, create some "coupons" & such).
and sunshine, you totally read my mind - that's what I gave for this past xmas! ;-)
thanks again everyone!

Anyone have any ideas that would be for just guys in general not just the dh? I have cousins, dads, grand dads, etc. And normally I buy them a gadget or a book or something but this year I'm making gifts for all the women so the men's need to be hand made too.

My dad never wants anything, I put together a photo album for him, of major acocomplishments of the kids through the year. Or special times, whatever overlaps occurs. He enjoys it.
My FIL loves housecoats, but been over 6 feet tall finds it hard to find one. I've made hime a couple over time, and he wears them until thread-bare.

Pyjama pants are really easy to make, and popular with men.

My sister decoupaged small wooden boxes for my sons and hubby for Christmas this year. She used pics of what they were into this year. They enjoyed those.
One year, I made fortune cookies for my dad's bday. I put funny sayings in each one. He just loved it.

I researched my husband's birthday for historical facts, people who were born on his day, etc. and compiled it into a book.
I also added stuff about the day he was born and how the planets were aligned and what it all meant for him astrologically speaking.
He loved it so much he cried and told me no one had ever been so thoughtful.
We got married two weeks later.
