    thanks debbie. On my gardening program the other night, they said that after doing studies in US, England and Australia, they found that people feeding birds in their backyards was a very good thing. So much land has been cleared of trees and shrubs that it has affected birds ability to feed. Feeding in the backyard, especially in winter, gave the birds a fighting chance that they otherwise won't have.
