Any free Virus Programs?

Another vote here for Avast. It works very well, and how can you go past a program that has "Pirate Talk" as one of its language options? It gives you messages like:

"Avast me hearties, yar list of dangerous sea dogs be safely aboard" (ie. it's updated). It gives me a chuckle every day.

Have you tried to uninstall through the Add/Remove Programs portion of the Control Panel? You might also check out Avast's forums for help.

It was frozen and I couldn't even get to the control panel. DD did some sort of magic on it though. She told me I shouldn't try to download new anti-virus software until mine expires...
