OK so i am minding my own business replying to some emails when outlook freezes on me.
So I try to close the message.... get a pop up saying the program is not responding click ok to close anyway... so I do... the program closes.
Then there is a pop up box that says...
" It is illegal to call out when in the message box"
What the heck does that mean???
LOL yeah Karen, I kept waitng to the pc police! Dh was worried about a virus, but I have updated norton, weekly, and run it weekly plus i run a firewall...
When I read the message i envisioned being stuck inside a little box trying to yell and not having the room!
Very odd!
I rebooted and didn't get it again after that though.
Usually a reboots fixes problems with windows. There are so many bugs in the windows operating systems. You should send a report to microsoft if your running windows xp. This will allow them to fix certain issues such as the one you were having.
Sometimes you might have an application that calls to memory from your computer and if this memory is already used or is misshandled you can get applications that stall or freeze.
Not much you can do but reboot the computer.
I have been playing with linux a while back and I was surprise on how stable it was. Frugalvillage runs on Linux and it has not needed to reboot because of a crash since February.
Could you imagine running an operating system that almost never fails? I think people get used to windows and how user friendly it is, doing this they sacrifice security and stability.
Not much to do but reboot in your case and maybe submit a bug report to microsoft.

Gabe,
thanks! I did reboot and haven ot had that trouble again, yet.
MJ loves Linux. He has a copy and if we could get it to work for our uses online, we would be using it now. As long as I can do email and "see" my friends I am fine! I do not care what the system is!
Redhat is very easy to install on any Intel chip based motherboard.
If you would like to try out redhat you can download the software for free online from the redhat website.
The actual software is free! Hurray Open source software!
http://www.redhat.com
I think the latest version is 9. I tried redhat 8.0 on my laptop and it worked really good! I had to tinker with the drivers for a wireless USB port that I had. Beside that everything was as easy as installing windows!
It was pretty straightforward. If you have a large hard drive and you would to try out linux you can partition your hard drive and run a dualboot process. This will allow at bootup if you want to load windows or linux.
Your husband might be able to help install redhat or another flavor of linux.
It's easy to send email, you get an office suite that is free also and compatible with Microsoft Office.
