Need modem driver help...
I have a 2nd computer that has been offline for a couple of months. One day it just wouldn't let me go online. I had an external modem hooked up to it and nothing I tried would work so today I unhooked it and tried to use my internal modem. It gave me the following error:
The connection program was unable to establish a reliable PPP connection.
When I check the modem it says it is working properly
BUT it also tells me I am missing the ltmdmnt.sys file.

Long story short, when I purchased the computer it had WinME OS, I changed it to Win2k and forgot to print out a copy of all my hardware, so I didn't know until recently what type of internal modem I had. (BTW - HP was no help at all, they said I shouldn't have changed anything and they had no idea what modem they installed) It is a Lucent Cheetah. I was able to download the driver for it, but it must be missing this particular file (ltmdmnt.sys). I found a site where I can download the the file but can't figure out which one to pick from!

The modem you have is a lucent winmodem. (software modem)
