Question Gabe or any other computer tech person....

I have a question, as I am computer illiterate. Could someone please explain what type of memory I need for my computer? I would like to speed it up some as the whole computer is running slow. Someone told DH to get more memory for it. My question is what type and then how do I install it??

Told you I was computer illiterate and feel stupid asking, but I guess I will never learn unless I ask.

    TIA!

    Ok...how old is your computer?
What type of processor is it?

You can find this under your control panel and look at the system settings. This will list an overview of your computer and give you CPU speed, type, how much ram is on it.
Give me those spec and I can tell you what kind of ram you need.

    Buy a 256 SDRAM.
    Thats the type you need.

it should be around 30$ to 60$ at staples, office max, local computer store.
