Default Wow! What a difference 5 years makes!

We bought a new computer last week and all I have to say is WOW! I went to turn on our old one, and when I touched it, I zapped it (static electricity) and it would not turn on at all, even after switching outlets). So, seings it only had Windows 98, whatever megahertz processor (never mind Gigabites!) and 64 megs or ram, it was time anyways.

We got a Sony Vaio with a flat panel monitor. Dh's selling point (he is a cable guy, mind you)was the optional TV card, where you can hook up your cable line to it and download an interactive preview guide, and use it like Tivo and burn programs onto a DVD (and you can edit the program to get rid of commercials, or do a still frame incase no one got enough of Janet Jackson's breast, LOL). Plus, it also has it's own picture editing software for the digital camera. I'm so amazed at the technological advances in just 5 years. It will be scary what it will be like when our kids are grown up.

Oh Laura I know what you mean. My ds who is a bit of a puter nerd himself, says that we (meaning the mankind..not me specifically ) have the technology to make puters on a molecular level!I have visions of each of us having chips implanted at birth! OMG! Our puter is about 5 years old and somedays she works better than others........Enjoy that new ride of yours'! Va-Room!

Just got a new computer myself last week. I am certainly not a computer whiz. I am happy to get online in seconds instead of waiting 15 minutes!
