Default the falling cost of hardware

I bought one of the first CD writers released. I think it was around 8 or 9 years ago - I have 7 computers so it's difficult to remember what i did which each of them. Anyhow, when I bought that original Cd writer it cost about $2500, I needed it for my work and didn't bauk at buying it. I just had the CD writer replaced. DH took it to the computer shop on Saturday and the new one cost $65!!!

I also bought a scanner when they first came out. I got a HPll, it's about 10 years old. It still works perfectly but they almost give new ones away now - they can certainly be bought for under $100.

It's amazing how time reduceses the cost of computers and their accessories so such.

DH and I were just discussing this the other day. We spent a fortune on our first computer and it had no bells or whistles and our latest has lots of bells and whistles and we paid $500 dollars for it with the monitor included. It is so nice to find things that are getting better and the price goes down instead of the usual things losing quality and the prices continue to increase.
