Question Need help with Windows XP...

I got a new computer in January and it has Win XP. After I downloaded things like WinZip and a couple of messengers etc... it is so sloooooow! And not just online, offline too.

I noticed that it has 2 partitions.

Can I put those type applications that I don't use a lot but do need occassionaly on Drive D?

If I can, how do I go about it? Can I just *move* them somehow or do I have to un-install and then re-install them on D drive?

One other thing, everytime I log off the computer now, I keep getting a message that wnupdate.exe is not responding. How do I fix this?

    TIA

Dee, yes you can move programs you don't use a lot and use them from drive D: I would unstall them from C: and reinstall them on D: If you just "move" them instead of reinstalling you'll have their registry entries on C: and not D: and this may cause a problem.

Windows XP is a huge program and it needs a biggish computer to run it. Is your new computer actually new? If so, why don't you ask the store you bought it from if everything is ok. You might need more RAM.

I'm not sure about your wnupdate problem, sorry.
