Smile Saving Your Email Address Book - How To.

I can’t express the heartbreak and disappointment that I hear from my customers when a hard drive goes bad and, unless it has been backed up, everything is lost!

The one thing that they lose that is most important to them is their "email addresses". Although it is important to back up your hard drive, it is more important that you back up the most important information first.

Following is how to backup/save your "Email Addresses". It’s fairly simple to do, and invaluable! If you have to replace or format your hard drive, you can reload them into you email program."SAVING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BOOK"

Place a formatted floppy disk in your floppy drive or a formatted CD in your RW CD drive. If you have a "back up" floppy or CD, use them. If you have a disk that you’ve saved your "Bookmarks" or "Favorites" to, it’s best to use it.

    Go to your "Email Program"

Locate your "Address Book" in the top tool bar.

After opening your address book, click on "Edit"

After clicking on "Edit", click on "Select All". This will "highlight" all of the addresses in your book.

After "highlighting" you addresses, click on "File"

After clicking on "File", click on "Export" . Then click on "Address Book".

A template will appear. On the pull down menu, locate the drive that you want to save to (i.e. 3.5 floppy drive, usually "A" or you CD drive)

Name your file - I usually name the file: "Email Addresses" and the date that I have saved them.
This should be done on a monthly basis.
