    Default New Bare Bones System

Well, I'm now into my new bare bones system.  The balance of the system arrived yesterday.  It took approx. 1/2 an hour for me to build and the cost was 1/2 that of a new pre-built system.  This means that I saved over $300.00.  Plus, I have $120.00 in rebates on their way.

In case there are any here that have never heard of a "Bare Bones" system, it is a computer that you can purchase just what you need.  If all you need is a new Mother Board - power supply and case, you can usually purchase it for under $100.00.  Like me, I needed an entire new system, so I purchased the enitre unite (case, mother board, memory, hard drive, processor and fan and CD RW, new OS), and  because of my experience with CPU's, I assembled it mayself.

It might be something you might think about and it's very cost effecient as well.

And if you say, "I can't put this together!" I'm sure you have many computer literate people that can!

    Oh Susie

Now I know who to ask questions of when I run into problems fixing up my old computer. It is sitting downstairs just waiting for me to get some time to work on it.

WTG on building your own system!

Thanks Dee. But I've done this for a living. I've had my own comptuer business since 1995 and have worked on/with computers since 1972.

If you need help, just let me know!

Susie barebone systems are the way to go. I did the same thing. I built my computer from scratch and it only cost me $287.00 total. I saved well over $400.00 and my computer has in it everything I need. I have never had a problem with it either!

Way to go Barebone systems are the best!!!
