Default How to Find Fonts to Use on Your Computer

    1.  Start your search at the International Typeface Corporation (ITC) Web site (www.itcfonts.com). The ITC Web site contains links to other font resources and is a great way to learn more about typography.

    2.  Check out www.fontsite.com, a Web site for typography and graphics professionals. In addition to some very useful articles and information, The FontSite has font downloads (some of which are free). This site provides both TrueType and PostScript fonts.

    3.  Visit the Adobe Web site (www.adobe.com), the mother lode of high-quality typefaces. This site has highest-quality PostScript and Type 1 fonts. Don't look for free downloads here, but do look if you want to create professional designs.

    4.  Try 007Fonts (www.007fonts.com) for some fun fonts. They provide some free downloads. The majority of their fonts are TrueType.

    5.  Browse www.agfamonotype.com for the traditional AGFA and monotype library. It's a great place to go to access a classic foundry.

    6.  Try Emigre (www.emigre.com) for hip, funky fonts. Although its Web site is a bit bland, Emigre has a collection of really fun fonts.

    7.  Look up Fonthead (www.fonthead.com), a new type foundry that specializes in light-hearted, quirky designs. They are reasonably priced and include TrueType and PostScript versions. Fonthead's Web site also has some free downloads.

    8.  Surf to the Cool Fonts (www.cool-fonts.com) site for some grungier designs.

    Warnings:
Don't combine too many fonts in a single page. If you're printing, it may choke your printer. More importantly, it can be a symbol of amateur design.
