Need Help With Security Patch/Critical Update.
I have a bad, bad Virus. I have been working on my puter for 2 days straight and finally found the link and instructions on how to remove the virus so I will do that tonight or in the morning.
My problem is....Microsoft sent out a Critical Update for this back in November, 2003, yes, I said 2003, lol. I installed 4 Critical Updates that same day and after a search of why I got the dang Virus, I find that the Updates all failed!!!
I have tried and researched how to go back in and try to get these updates but I can't find where to go. All the info. just tells me about the updates but none tell me where to get them except to go to my Windows Updates and they are not listed there in "my updates". They are only listed in the Windows Installed Updates and they say "failed". Grrrr.
What can I do? I tried the customer service website but it says it is down.
I'm running Windows ME.
Would appreciate any help with this,
Thanks,

Never mind. I found what I needed. I had to go to the Windows Update Download Control Center. I was there before but didn't notice that if I scrolled down I would find a box to put in the number of the update I needed.
Got it downloading right now.

Ya know what? The patches wouldn't work! I spent all that time downloading them to end up getting error messages that I was missing something for each one and that they wouldn't load.
So I went to Trend PC and ran their House Call Virus detector and it found 3 of the files and I deleted them. AVAST! caught 3 others so maybe they are all gone for now. At least I hope so.
Thanks!
