    Question Learning Linux

I am having so much trouble with these linux disks. I would like to know if anyone knows of a site where I can read about learning linux starting from the VERY basics? I'm about ready to give up and buy windows.

    Default Sometimes I wonder...

How I can be so dense. I just checked online for linux OS books at the library and they have several in stock with disks. They even have a Fedora book. I guess I'll be going to the library tomorrow. Duh!!!

    google is your friend:

    http://www.google.com/linux

Type in search what you are looking for.

Example: garble screen after first boot or setting up video card editing. It helps to know what type of hardware you have with your computer. This allows you to narrow your search.

For example if you have an HP 512n you probably have a integrated graphic card from Intel 810e.

If you are having problems with the display I suggest disabling your graphic acceleration.

    I posted something on this
    http://64.179.4.149/questions/showth...hreadid=264128

You will need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
You might need to use a rescue disc to edit your xorg.conf file.

This is a good forum for help: linuxquestions.org . I've never had to post - when I used the search engine, I found my question had already been answered.

I also use google when I get a strange error message. Do a search on the error message.
