    Default Grrrrrrr......My brand new computer...

    ...seems to have a fried portion already.

    The care reader and firewire port no longer work. I haven't even had the thing two months. DH spent 1.5 hours on the phone with tech "support" and it seemed like the girl knew even less about computers than he does.

    So if I go missing for a couple days, rest assured that I am still alive. I'll send my sister in to say hi if need be.

    Of course, that is, AFTER I convince them it is fried and they need to fix it and send me whatever I need to send it back.

    I'm so sorry to hear that. You won't want to call "tech support" again though. They are only phone jockeys who just read from a manual without the goal of actually fixing the problem.

    Take it back to where you got it. It should still be under the manufacturer's warranty. The firewire port and the card reader are both hardware which are usually covered on the factory warranty. Good luck!
