    Default random computer problem

I couldn't find a place to put it...I'm sure there is an easy solution I am just not seeing. I got my taskbar (I think that is what it is called, the bar at the bottom of a windows desktop) stuck on the right side of the screen somehow. I cannot get it back on the bottom, and I really want it back at the bottom of the screen. I know it should be easy, but I can't figure it out!!

Can you just click on the taskbar and drag it to the bottom of the screen.

Once you get it where you want it:

Right click the task bar and click on "Lock the Taskbar" that should keep it in place for you.

I'm getting so frustrated with it, all it will do is grow and shrink. I'm in XP by the way, I was always able to fix this problem in 98 and now it won't fix and I'm so mad I want punch it. (

You have to be pointing at the empty area of it when your hit it with the right click to drag it. You'll get other stuff if you're right clicking where the buttons are. Glad you got it - I know how frustrating stuff like that can be. I'm currently working on one that shuts down after about 90 seconds - not long enough to be able to RUN a virus scan, though I'm sure it has one, and the virus scan won't run in Safe mode. Haven't figured out a good way around that yet.

I figured it out, but now my battery icon and USB hardware icon are gone. The space is still there and if you hover over it, it reads what it is supposed to. If you click on it it does what it should, but there is no picture...weird. I can live with that though.

I think I may have found a solution for you. You may wish to type in the words: "missing taskbar icons" in Google or Yahoo search engine. I am not allowed to post URLs yet, because I have not made 15 posts, but I've found heaps of websites on the Internet with possible solutions for you. Good luck!
