Help me understand coupons
Sometimes I just don't get.
Today I had a coupon for 40 cents off two packages any variety/flavor Totinos pizza rolls. The package in the picture was for 120ct.
Does that mean it's only good on the 120ct? The coupon says nothing about the size. They wouldn't let me use them on a smaller package.
I just don't get it.
Then the same store has a BOGO free deal. I try to use a coupon for the one that I'm paying for and they won't let me because there's already a "coupon" for it. It's the stores deal.
They also don't take internet coupons again.
I was going to make the purchase without the coupons, but during all this the register timed out and they wanted me to swipe my card again. I told them never mind and left.
Am I thinking wrong, or is the store just dumb?

I think you were right on both counts. If the coupon did not specify the size (or a range, such as 20 oz or larger) then the coupon should be good on any size. As far as using a coupon on the one you are buying in a BOGO offer, some stores allow you to use a coupon on the one you are buying. I try to use self-check out at stores that let you swipe the coupons yourself. Less hassles that way. I don't use that many coupons at once, so I don't draw attention to myself.

I think you were right. If the coupon does not specify a size, you can use it on any size product. Also, I use coupons all the time on items that are B1G1 Free, and I use TWO coupons, once for each item. I have never had a problem.
There are some stores that don't take internet coupons and I don't argue that point. But you were definitely right on the other issues.

I would absolutely ask for a copy of the coupon policy from the store. I have never heard of not being able to use a coupon for BOGO. Now using 2 coupons is a YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) situation, but you should have no problem using one!
Do you mind letting us know what store this was.
Oh, and if there is no size listed it is good on any size.

First you need to get a copy of the stores corporate policy and carry it with you.
I think the cashier was uninformed. They get paid back by the manufacturer.
Second: on a bogo you can usually only use 1 coupon but you can use a manufactures coupon.
Third:I usually go by the type but not the size from the picture.
Forth: This sounds like a poopy small store is it. They usually make up policies as they go along.
Fifth: I have found my cashiers mood has way too much to do with it.
Ex. the other day she ran over to the coupons at the u-scan and threw them out. She said if I took them it was stealing. WTH. Again I will buy another item and they get reimb. so ???

The store was Price Chopper. It's not a small store. I think I'll shop somewhere else for a while. They do this all the time. It's not like they won't get their money back. Don't they make extra for taking the coupons?
First it was the cashier. Then he went and asked the manager and then one of the customer service people came over to tell me it was for the wrong size. I tried to explain that it didn't specify size. That was just the picture they used. Besides they don't even carry the 120count pkg and what kind of savings would 40 cents on two be? On a package that size, I'd expect .75 off one.
I do most of my shopping at Aldi anyway. I go there for the deals and fruit. I don't like their meat, I get that at Sam's. It won't be a big deal not to go there anymore.

Don't get to frustrated and stop using coupons due to their ignorance. I've had some dozes in the past. I believe you were right on both counts, now a lot of stores are not taking internet coupons due to fake ones being produced and then they lose their money. Asking for a copy of their coupon policy should help. Like you when I get frustrated I usually don't go back to that store for a while. Best of luck

I'm not against the internet coupon policy. They keep changing at this store. I really don't blame them on that one. I know there are a lot of fakes out there, so I'm okay on that point.
I'm waiting to hear from Totino's. I asked them to please specify size in the future and told them that 40 cents off 2 /120 ct pkgs wasn't a very good deal.

I had a similar experience at a Walgreen's recently. I had a manufacturer's coupon and the item also had a Walgreen's coupon from the insert. I never had a problem using both on this item before. But the cashier told me I couldn't use both. So I didn't buy the item and just went to another Walgreen's and bought it using both coupons. So much of couponing depends on what cashier you get and what store you go to.

I heard back from Totinos. They said they don't set the coupon policies in the stores. (I understand that) Then gave me a list of two stores that should carry the 120ct packages of pizza rolls. These stores are over 1 hour away. What a joke.
I have coupons for Suave and the picture is for the professional products, but it says on any suave product. I know they won't let me use those either.

Unless the coupon says good on a certain size or higher it should be for any size. and if it says any product on it then point that out if the cashier looks only at the picture. (It sounds like the Walgreens cashier was just ignorant of coupon usage and store policy it would seem to me because the W coupon is a store coupon and it is legal and acceptable to use both) I wouldn't go back to the store first spoken of.
