Default Ready to get back on track w/couponing

O.K. My mom is better, my son's school issues should be over and I am ready to get back on track.

Yesterday I clipped every coupon I have and organized them into envelopes for different catagories - H&B, food, cleaners, dogfood, medicines, paper goods, etc.

Tomorrow I plan to put the coupons in my binder in the baseball card holders.

Once I am completely organized I will make my menu and store list.

I need to plan my menu by what I have in my overstuffed freezer (need to make room for a turkey!). I got such good coupon deals in September that I have tons of food.

I hope to pare down my grocery shopping so I can add some extra money to my Christmas budget.....So I will be using the old stockpile as much as possible.

I also hope to get some good coupon deals for Christmas presents.

Well, I haven't been couponing much in Nov. because I haven't had to shop much. I have so much food in the house and H & B's that I just haven't needed to get much. But what I have done is use coupons as I needed the few things I bought.

I am so glad to have a stockpile to use during the holidays so I can divert cash to my Christmas fund. I hope next year to have a Christmas savings account and be in even better shape.

I will end up re stocking my stockpile in January, but it is still going strong for now.

In the last couple of months i have really been using my coupons. In November alone i have saved $12.00 in coupons. This month i have also stockpiled some H&B with coupons that were running out on products i use. It is almost addictive..LOL

I am VERY ready to get back on track with couponing, refunding, freebies, thrift store shopping, whatever it takes to get through my DD21's move back home and her (possible) pregnancy.

I've got tons of coupons, both from newspapers and some nice lots I bought on Ebay that contained laundry detergent coupons for the kind I like to use, as well as many good grocery coupons. I will be looking at baby coupons with new interest now, though, as I suspect she IS pregnant. (Will confirm with a test when she arrives here Weds.)

What's the baseball binder idea that was mentioned above? Sounds interesting!

I have a handmade plastic canvas box that my disabled dad makes - it's just the right size for all my coupons, and has dividers in it for them. Fits just about anywhere, and I can carry it right into the store with me if need be. I sometimes even keep it in my van so I can sort coupons when I'm delayed somewhere and sitting in the van.

suebeehoney, the dividers are the plastice sleeves used for baseball card collections. You can get them at WM pretty cheap. I tried them but they didn't work for me, I think the sleeves are too small and you have to make too many categories for my taste, but most people who use them love them. I just bought the canvas pencil pouches with the plastic window and zippe and put them in my binder. I like them because I can fit a ton of coupons in one pouch and take just that pouch with me to the store when I want to. Maybe one of the baseball sleeve users will post a pic of their binder.
