BJ's wholesale club question.
Has anyone here recently gotten a membership to BJs? My boyfriend and I were looking at the tires there and they've got the kind we want and at a good price (BFGoodrich tires). Right now if you get a membership they give you a sheet of coupons. The sheet just happens to have a for 50 dollar off for the specific tires we're wanting. We can't really afford to get a membership at this time. I wanted to know if anyone here had started a membership recently and recieved that coupon sheet with the tire coupon. If anyone has it, I would like to maybe trade other coupons for it or something. It would really help as we're in dire need of new tires before the weather gets really snowy and bad.

The BJ's in our area are giving away 60 day memberships right now. I bet yours are too.

If you don't get the free 60 day member ship then you need to figure the cost of the membership into your savings on the tires....The savings on the tires-the cost of the membership...would it really be worth it? Will you use the membership for the rest of the year and will it save you money? I had a BJ's membership and yes they do have some good buys and nice sales, but with my couponing etc...the things that I got a regular grocery stores for free or very minimal cost made BJ's look expensive. So you need to figure all the costs into play.

Our BJs is doing a 60 day free trial membership but they will not give you any coupons until you become a full member. THe woman at customer service showed us the sheet of coupons (with the tire one we want) and said we get it after we pay for the membership. We were hoping we could find someone who signed up and trade something for their tire coupon if they weren't using the tire coupon. We can't afford the membership right now, and the coupon would save us $50 on new tires for our car.

I don't think you would be allowed to use the coupon without a membership card. Actually, I don't think you can buy anything there without one. When we signed up for our membership this year, we were told that it was 100% money back guaranteed, no matter how much we used it we could get our membership fee back whenever we wanted. Not exactly the most honest thing to suggest, but business is business right?

Well we got the trial membership card so we're able to buy anything we want and we were told we have all advantages of a regular membership. We found a coupon from the sheet laying near the toilet paper we bought and were able to use it. SO i do know the coupons will work for us. But we just weren't given any because we didnt sign up for a paid membership.

Went and got our full membership today and got our $50.00 dollar coupon for our tires. Used some "in-club" coupons also. Total savings today in coupons.... 71.43. The membership itself cost about $48 so we got the cost of the membership back.
