    Default Buying coupons...

It sounds counterintuitive, but it can really pay off. Legally, you can't buy or sell coupons but you can charge for the service of your time to gather them and for the postage... so I just got 10 coupons from ebay for 1.99. Each coupon is for a free roll of paper towels or toilet paper, so I end up paying just .19 cents for each roll. Not too bad I'd say

Sometimes when I miss the Sunday paper I go to www.couponsthingsbydede and buy them already clipped or the entire Sunday insert. Once I got Mighty Dog coupons for 1 free can ea. They cost 3cents ea. It was a great deal for me even w/ the cost and shipping. I ended up w/30 free cans of dogfood!

On the other hand I ordered the free Marcal toilet paper coupies and then couldnt find a store near me that sold that brand!

I buy coupons on eBay on a regular basis (okay it is illegal to sell coupons, but you can pay someone for their time to collect, cut, mail them). You can find multiples of coupons for just about anything on eBay.

My rule of thumb is to try to buy them for about 1/10th of their value (or less). Example: $4 for $40 worth of coupons.

I used to buy canned dog food coupons that way before I found the grocery salvage store. I now buy canned dog food there much cheaper than the grocery store with a coupon.

When mom was alive, she drank 3 cans of Ensure a day. I bought coupons, waited until they were on sale, and bought cases (watching the use buy dates on the cans). I saved a TON of money over 5 years!

Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

This is better than eBay, I use it ALL the time:

    www.the couponclippers.com

Be aware, there is a minimum purchase amount ($3?$5? I'm sure it's listed there). But with some planning, and paying attention to sale cycles, the savings add up fast! I recently got the 'Healthy Harvest' (or whatever it's called) juice for .50 a piece- bought 10 $1 off coupons form this site, wiated for them to go on sale for $1.50 a piece, really made out. Also am now super stocked up on the marcal tp/ napkins that were FREE after coupon!

Great site, would rec. to anyone, very reliable, can pay using paypal. I am cuurently pouting they're 'closed' until 1/1, been really getting organized on my planned CVS purchases for the next few weeks, I wanna see what coupons I can throw in to push the cost down!

I'm curious about how long it takes for your coupons to arrive after you purchase them?

Just a couple of days, usually they are mailed in a regular letter envelope. Most people who sell them online ship daily, I've found. The expiration dates are always clearly listed so you can decide if you will have enough time to use them.

I get multiples of every insert every week from different sources, and trade alot on another board. But,I've always wondered how in the world these places get hundreds/thousands of inserts. Any ideas how they do it?

Maybe they have a contract to buy the unsold copies of their local paper? Other than that, I'm stumped too.

ETA: I bought another lot of coupons yesterday, once doubled these will get me cans of progresso soup for 50c each. Not a bad replacement for a lunch bought at work! Just keeping my fingers crossed that they get here before the sale at Shaw's ends on the 14th.

I have never purchased coupons and don't see myself doing so in the future. If it works for those who do it, that's great!!!

    I started using the couponclippingcrew.com
about 2 weeks ago. She's very quick & reasonable.
Orders of $5 or more is free shipping. You might spend $5 for the coupons, but save easily atleast $50+.
Last week I got coupons for $1/1 (3 bar) pack of Ivory soap.
After my coupons at Wal-mart I only paid .07 for each pack!
I think it is worth it.

More coupons purchased today. My local Shaw's posts the next flyer online a day or so ahead of time, so they should have plenty of time to arrive before the sale ends.

Honest tea will be on sale $1.00/bottle. Bought 20 50c off coupons for $2. These will double and get me free organic tea.

Steamfresh frozen veggies will be $1.50/bag. Bought 50c off coupons that will double, so I'll get them for 50c a bag.

I figure if I keep posting the deals, I might convert a few people and help them save on groceries!
