A new year... a resolution to start couponing.
I decided that I really need to start couponing and receiving free samples again. Therefore, I checked out Save.ca and there was at least 65 coupons to be had.
I opted for all 65.
I figured I'd send the ones I didn't use to my SIL, especially the baby and dog food coupons.
I also signed up at Brandsaver.ca and claimed another 32 coupons. I had to remove some of the ones I wanted, but I kept the 32 that I knew I'd use. After dinner, I need to figure out what free samples I can get that I'll use.
I also need to start using the in-store coupons at Superstore.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Bought myself a new shelf unit so I will be rearranging the pantry again. BIG job.
Decided to go back to sewing too. I have a stockpile of fabric and don't recall what I have. Will be getting a cabinet for that too for my b-day.

Many consumers have difficulty in redeeming online coupons, I think coupon clipping is one of the most commonly used forms of saving money. Coupons are a great resource for saving money.

I vow this year to not only keep up my couponing and keep track of it all, but also to start using coupons that do NOT exclude trial sizes to get items for FREE. It takes a lot of time to coupon, if you're serious about it, but it gets faster as you get your 'system' down pat, and the $ you save makes it very worth it, IMO.

May:
Coupon/drug store rewards:$15
$ Spent accumulating coupons: $5.99
YTD totals:
Coupons/drug store rewards: $759.04
$ spent getting coupons:$92.70
2011 total savings:$2068.18 2010:$1066.58
Meatless dinner: 13/52
Weight loss challenge:1.4/35

I've been using my coupons, but I haven't been trading for coupons as much as I used to. That is something I plan on getting back to this year. So often, I need a coupon that someone else isn't using, but they need something I'm not using...win-win!

I think lot of unredeemed discount coupons are available on the internet. Even there are number of shoppers, at present, are diverting themselves toward online coupons in order to find the best possible deals available in their local community.

Back in 92 when we got on the net, is when I 1st started couponing. There's a site called MyCoupons that inspired me. So many girls on there were so helpful and it was always so much fun to trade and get an envelope full of coupons. Now it's all diferent, and trading has turned into buying w/paypal (most times), only.
Whole different ballgame out there
I miss those days!
Theresa
So how's it going, MomToTwoBoys? Would love to hear from you about it.

O.K. Her's what gone on since I first posted.
Set up a shoebox system to carry coupons and found it awkward and tippable. So I switched to a zippable binder. Took an unbelievable amt. of time to switch over but it's done.
Took my backstock of coupons I don't want be will trade in the shoebox carrier. (plastic w/ a handle. has oversized notecards for filing categories.)
Found several people on FV that I trade w/. A couple great /a couple not.
Have studies u-tude videos obssessivly. Found out how to take down 4 inserts in about 5 min. using staples. Always buy multiple papers. Stockpiling has to go hand in hand for optimal success.
Had joined several free coupon sites and signied up for many manufacturer sites. Have "friended" many manufacturers on Facebook.
Have been working Kroger and Target deal multiply w/ great success. Saved more than I spent at Meijers yesterday.
In the last week I have couponed FREE
-loreal lipstic
-several Fusion razor
-2 giant bottles of olay body wash
-6 bags of chex mix
-2 1/2 gal. choc. milk
-2 cartons of eggs (pick-up today)
-missed a free hot sauce by a hair-rats
Wrangled 5 20# bags of Iams dry cat food for $10.
Gotten 5 bags of Iams dog food for $15.99-$1.-$5.=$9.99/17.5#
Found $ 8.99 mascara for $2. so I got 3 and $14.99 roller ball concealer for $3.15 so I got 3. (all for DD)
I am working on getting $50. back from P&G for buying their product.
I have gotten 24 shampoos for .50 each for charity.
Lays full size chips for $1.00 a bag (bought 6) $3.99 reg. each.
My DD started calling coupons "magic money". and I agree. My DH can't believe it.

You are doing great FW2! I need to get back into refunding too. It's one part of it all that I let slide away, and I miss it. I do some, but I used to mail in faithfully on a monthly thing. That's a great one you're working on!
My family can't believe what I save too! I especially love it that my husband is proud of me. He works so hard to keep me home with the kids, it helps to make me feel like I'm helping him out, kwim? And at my favorite supermkt, I'm known as the "coupon lady"
...lol! I wonder if they know just what a compliment that is to me? Ha! And it really is great when they cheer me on and they love reading off my savings to me.
I'm so happy for all you girls just starting, or maybe you're now re-starting. It's an excellent way to save money, dontcha think?
Theresa
and also FW2, i need to check out the youtube videos. i'm sure i'll love them, so thanks for posting that for all of us!
