Question about multiple transactions at CVS
So i know a lot of folks do multiple transactions at CVS to stretch their $- my ?s is, HOW do you do it? Do you stand there with all your stuff broken into piles, asking them to ring up each separately, or do you pop in and out of the CVS day to day if it's local, doing one transaction at a time? Never done it, would have to do multiple transactions at once as CVS is 20+ minutes away...is that OK, acceptable, if I'm not holding up a line? Sure the cashier would -love- that....hehe

I've never done it back to back at the register if there is anyone else behind me in line. I don't mind getting back in line to get free stuff, and I'm not in it to hold someone up if they are in a big hurry. Sometimes I need an extra minute or two to get my ducks (or coupons) in a row anyway.

I have only done it if there is not anyone behind me. I will divide my items up if it is a big extra buck coupon that will be coming to me. I find if I don't use it that day, I often forget them and they expire.

I do multiple transactions at once. I have all of my transactions written down before I go to the store. Having it on paper keeps me organized and I don't forget something, screw up the order or get the wrong thing. I know in transaction #1 I am to buy X, Y & Z and it will cost $xx.xx after ECB, store Q's & manufacture Q's. Then so on and so forth for the remaining transactions. DH is normally with me and he will do the second transaction if someone is behind us in line just so they won't start huffing and puffing. If we have more than two and someone comes up behind us, we offer them to go ahead of us.

I'll ask the cashier to split it into two transactions if there isn't a line, if there is I usually come back the next day or hit another location.

Some cashiers give you a hard time about multiple orders. Depends on the store and cashier. I will shop with dd and dh. That way we can do three orders at once and that usually covers what I want or need. Sometimes I make another trip. Depends on what is on sale.

I have done a couple transactions at once. One clerk commented that what I did was nothing. She said there were some customers that would get a whole bunch of stuff for free.

I wanna go to CVS with you guys and see how the pros do it. I am kinda new to the coupon thing but am learning alot from you guys...err...girls...lol. We dont have a CVS where I live but I travel alot and have come across a few of them. Is it basically the same as a Walgreens?

Hhmm....I do not 'Walgreen' but from my readings and understandings, CVS is far 'friendlier' for deals...something about 'better' rules for the consumers for using diff. types of coupons, etc. I hear some do great at Walgreens, but just strikes me as more complicated and far more rules about Walgreen's register rewards and manufacturer coupons...hopefully someone else can clarify it better than I, but I hear CVS is easier!

No CVS by me, just Walgreens. I agree, with CVS there seems to be more/better deals to be had. I wish we had both! I do pretty well at Walgreens. There is a great website that has video tutorials for CVS and other places - very helpful if you are just starting out. They also send GREAT e-mails with deal alerts and such. I bit the bullet and did 2 carefully planned out transactions, paid out of pocket only $16.24 total for $50+ of stuff, on sale. Have 2 ECBs left for next time. I could get into this!

There's a deal going this week that's a huge money maker if you can find it. It's buy 2 Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch suncare products, get $10 ECB's back. The trick is finding an elusive little 1 oz. tubes of this product. They are only $1.99 each, so at that point, you're spending $4, and getting back $6. It gets better if you use the printable $2/1 ANY SIZE Neutrogena skincare product, since you'll be paying NOTHING, and getting $10 back. If you can't print coupons (like me
) there was also $1/1 any Neutrogena suncare or Men's skincare in an insert last month. It was a regional coupon, however. I have yet to find these little tubes, unfortunately. I've checked 4 CVS's around me, and I'm going to check another 2 or 3 tomorrow, depending on how many I drive past while shopping lol.
