Walmart problems again!!
I have these rebate checks from Enfamil for numerous amounts. I have noticed that Walmart has their ready made Enfamil Lipil cans on clearance for 5.00. I had two 5.00 dollar rebate checks left so I tried to use them. The cashier rang everything up and deducted the 5.00 checks then noticed that they were expired after the transaction almost went through. After 10-15 minutes of several supervisors trying to figure out what to do I said just take them back I don't want them.
Then they tried to accuse me of running an ebt scam. I said wait one minute these are not considered ebt checks they are rebate checks from the company and I told you that you can have them back. Then they reimbursed me for them when I didn't buy them in the first place. Original price came up to 94 dollars and some odd change, then with the 2 5.00 off checks it was 84 dollars. Then they reimbursed me so my total bill was 74 some dollars. I tried to tell them that it wasn't right, but my four month old was starting to whine and I just wanted to get going.
It was my fault that I didn't check those over, but Target took my other two checks earlier in the day so I didn't think to even look at the expiration.
This is why I love Target over Walmart when it comes to rebate checks or coupons period. I just don't understand why it is so much more difficult to deal with Wally World over this.

I have no clue what an ebt scam is but sorry to hear you had such a hassle. Crazy you told them they should not take them off and they didn't get it right. You tried to be honest. I guess you can't help it if they wouldn't listen. You can call and get the stores general manager if you would like to make it right maybe

Yeah, I can really relate...Every time I go to Wal Mart, I usually have a handfull of coupons...There's usually some type of drama/problem with some of the coupons...and I check each and every one before I go into the store...I make sure I get the items specified, and verify types...sizes/oz./bottles etc...before I get to the check out.AND yet still end up with issues...grrrrr....I really don't like shopping at Wal Mart...

It seems as if the coupon challenges at WM stores are rampant throughout and not just localized occurences. Perhapas someone should take the time to write top management - unless the employees are being told to make it difficult for customers to use coupons - that would be very sad. Wish we had a Target here.

I used to love Walmart, but have found them to really be not-such-great deals in general anymore...can't recall using more than a few coupons at a time there before, never had an issue, but they were only a few and cut-and-dry. Meanwhile, there is a cashier at the grocery store I avoid like the PLAGUE- you can buy 2 indentical items, give her 2 indentical coupons (one for each item) and she will tell you 'I'm sorry, we don't double coupons'. My friend (another frugal guru) and I trade horror stories about her- it's so bad both of us would rather a longer line than dealing with her! Every once in a while we forget to check before getting in line and getting stuck with her...ooops!

I used to go to walmart because they were the cheapest place to shop and would take coupons. I had more headaches with them just from the incompetence of the cashiers and stockers. I have worked in retail so it's not like I don't know what they are supposed to be doing, but if you try to correct an error they made (very nicely and politely) you would think you just insulted their entire family for generations. It wasn't worth the hassle anymore.
Now it is the store of last resort. If noone else in the 3 towns right next to each other has what I am looking for, I will break down and go to walmart. We get gift cards at Christmas time from on relative and that is the only other time we go there.
I agree that target is so much easier to deal with especially with coupons.wife to carl

I have gotten walmart down to a science. I have a list of the few items that are worth going to walmart for. I know how much I will need to buy for the month and that's how much I get. BAM, done. Walmart once a month.

Would it be wrong somehow to take up going to WalMart each week just for the coupon items my wife wants, letting them ring everything up and then when they say no coupons say, "OK, have a nice day," and just go home without buying anything?

If they said absolutely no coupons? No, I don't think it would be wrong. Now if they said no printables....I'd just have them take those items off of the order but still get the rest with the other Q's. I've got a strong belief that the reason Wal-Mart is so coupon un-friendly is because they don't want take the time to train their cashiers properly on how to handle coupons, so unless it is an absolutely idiot proof coupon....forget about it. The last time they took coupons from me, they lost money because a cashier managed to enter 3 coupons, when I only had 2. He ended up taking off the whole value of a package of zip-loc sandwich bags, when I didn't even have a Q for that item! How in the world....? lol, anyway, that's just my theory on why they don't take them...because they lose money through their cashiers.

I hate WM for the same reasons. I do not do much shopping there because of the hassle of using coupons. They make it seem like you are a thief for using them.
