Coupons on eBay?
Has anyone gotten coupons off of eBay?
I just received the ones I bought last week, and it was a HUGE bust
Just curious if you've done this and how your experience has been.

I've been buying my Q's for years and have always been pretty happy. But, I never buy the "box lots" of say 50 or 100 various Q's. You never know what yo are going to get.
*I order Q's once a week from TheCouponClippers
*I check out the upcoming sale circulars online and order the ones I will use in conjunction with the sales.
*If, on Friday night when The CouponClippers release the new Q's, there are any hot ticket Q's that normally sell out fast I will place an additional order for those at that time.
*I don't bid on Q's from ebay. It is cheaper for me to just go ahead and buy the exact ones I want, will use, or need all at once from one place. An average week I spend $6 on 40-60 Q's. And I use every one of them.
I use to buy whole inserts and order the Q's I wanted more of. But, now I just order the ones I want and leave off the whole inserts.Last edited by Gabe; 09-09-2010 at 11:20 AM.

I won't buy the lots off 100 they offer. Now 5 years ago they had auctions running for 500 coupons, did well with those. But i search for certain coupons.

I buy coupons from ebay but never the random ones...they will always be a bust because no one knows exactly what you are gonna use. I buy specifics.

I have always been happy with the coupons I purchased on eBay. That being said, I have never purchased random lots. I buy multiples of coupons for things like canned dog food.

I stopped getting "pot luck" coupons a VERY long time ago. And to tell you the truth, it's too bad. When I 1st started coupon trading back in 97' when we got the internet, it was a different story, and getting a pot-luck was alot fun. I know when I started to learn the "ropes", and I began offering pot-lucks to the newbies, I loved it! First off, it was always "coupon courtesy" to ask if they used baby, pet, or even if they smoked. Also would ask for their fave brands, etc., and what they ABSOLUTELY wouldn't use. So it was a win-win situation. I could trade off my unwanteds to the delight of someone else. If they didn't have anything I wanted, I would trade for a reasonable amount in postage stamps, or sometimes kool aid pts., or doughboy pts. They used to be great for redeeming for their merchandise. At the time, you could get a Game-Boy for KA pts., and Doughboy stuff was a fave around here.
But REAL trading days are so gone now. Everything is buy with paypal, and man!, some people put way too high a value on their's. Back then, it was usually "a coupon, for a coupon". Afterall, what good is a $1 coupon that you have no use for, but that you could use it to trade for the $.50 one that you could use? In the end, all's a coupon is, is a piece of paper no matter what it says on it. And it doesn't take any longer to cut out the higher value ones, than it does the lower value ones! And a 50-100 coupon envelope, was never more than $1, plus a stamp.
Sorry you went thru that HD. That person found a way to make a quick buck by getting rid of her "garbage" coupons. GRRR! It makes me mad! Your best bet these days is to use the clipping services, or find trading boards like www.mycoupons~dot com~. Go to the COMMUNITY, and then the COUPON/REBATE SPOT board. See what's up for trade or paypal. Hope it works out for ya! BTW, you do need to sign up as a member to trade on that board.

I always buy specific coupons like Iams or when they had the dishwasher tabs. Buying lots won't get you too far.

Thanks, everyone!
I'm definitely going to check out those sites and see what I can do. I was really bummed about eBay... I've been buying and selling for years, but this is my first time with coupons. I'll share them with my sister and the Qpon Queen (my MIL lol) and maybe they can use them. May have been a waste of $5 for me, but they may get something out of them! (I hope)

I don't buy alot of name brand products - very few & sometimes ebay will sell a "lot" of specific coupons & I will buy. It helps w/ the stockpile & saves money

I don't buy random lots, just ones I use. I also prefer the Buy It Now listings.
