Are your coupons disappearing?
Just read a note on the web this morning regarding companies being stingier on their coupons. The writer noticed that there were less coupons in the sunday paper and the face value of some had changed from .50 to .55 making it impossible to "double up on"? I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that coupons are harder to come by or are worth less. They are almost non-existant here. I really have to scramble to get some and we never have double off as I hear a lot of you are able to use...

I have been noticing that too. A few weeks ago in our sunday paper all the coupons were for pet food or household cleaning/ personal care items. We currently have no pets and I am well stocked with the household/personal care stuff. The All You magazine from walmart always has a bunch of coupons in it, and most of them are for $1 off of product.

No complaints from me. I cant double anyways so its actualy better for me if they raise the value.I did notice that we are in a bit of a slump but that is becuase the seasons are changeing, soon we willl start to see more coupons for things that we havent seen in a while.

yes there is a cycle with coupons just like there is a cycle in store with what's on sale.
You can always see what is coming out in the next weeks newspaper
http://www.taylortownpreview.com/
She's based in Orlando so sometimes it's different from what I get in Denver, but it's often fairly close.
If there is something good coming out then I "buy" more coupons from a clipping site or on eBay.
Scott's bathroom tissue was on sale last week - $1 for a 4 pack.
I ordered 20 coupons for a $1 off a 4pack or larger on eBay last Wednesday ($1.89) and they got to me on Saturday. On Sunday I bought 20 packages for the cost of sales tax pluse the $1.89 I paid on eBay.
There are many deals to be found, just need to work at it a bit more.

Two different stores in my area double coupons up to 99 cents! Which is great but most coupons under 1 dollar stop at 75 cents. Every couple of months those same two stores will actually TRIPLE up to 20 coupons per visit per day. I don't use coupons consistently, but I do save them (especially the .75 ones) until those triple coupon weeks and get so many things free!

I cannot seem to plan ahead enough to think about buying coupons online. Maybe someday I will get it figured out.

I don't use alot of coupons but there are a few I do really rely on like pet food, cat litter, and some treats for the kids. I can't say I've noticed the amount going up on coupons but what I have been seeing here is alot of coupons requiring you to buy 2 of the item to use the coupon. And most times even if I manage to match the coupon to a sale, it's still not a good enough value to me to buy it since most coupons I use are for snacks, and already prepared boxed foods and such. I don't like devoting that many of my food dollars to one item that with 2 teens who eat like starving truckers who were stranded on a vegetable farm for 2 mnths, and most of the snacks BARELY last thru one snack attack.:surprise:
I do have a grocery here that still doubles, but the one I used to go to the most because of the fuel perks points <money off gas at gas station for every so many dollars spent> recently changed their policy from doubling up to 99 cents off to only doubling up to 50 cents now. So now I have to go to a diff store if I want to double bigger coupons and their fuel perks program isnt near as good as the other grocery stores. Its a good thing I only depend on traditional grocery stores for a few things
and that I do most of my grocery shopping at super walmart. I know some people hate walmart <me too for the record> but simple fact is between their prices and doing alot of price matching there I just get the most bang for my buck. Now if THEY doubled coupons...even only up to 50cents...grocery shopping would be perfect! or as perfect as it can be lol.

None of our stores double either so the higher the coupon value is the better for me. I belong to a few coupon train sites plus I sometimes buy them on ebay as well as print some here & there. I love using coupons when I shop, the more coupons the bigger the savings, the more money I have for other things

My mom was watching me clip coupons when she was visiting the other day, and she noticed that coupons are worth NOTHING anymore compared to what they used to be. She raised me and my sisters in the same city that I live in now, and she said that every store used to double, and coupons had a lot more value etc. She said it was the only way she fed us sometimes! She's amazed that I'm able to get such great deals on such meager coupon-resources.
I guess this just means that we have to work harder and smarter for our deals.

Also try ALL YOU magazine , its only sold at walmart as far as I can tell. You can also subscribe. Every month they have coupons that are for higher values then the ones in the paper. The october issue has a 1.00 off of one hamburger helper. Thats great becuase the one in the paper was for 50 off of 2. I will save it for the next time its onsale B1G1 witch is normal every two months or so. There is also a coupon to get FREE wiped cream and a 1.00 off of all luandry soap. I will save the all couponand combinde it with the 50 off one I already have to buy it when its b1g1. The normal price is 3.69 and if I use the 1.00 coupon plus the .50 then divide by two I will get it for 1.09 a each.

I second the tip from AnnK about the All You magazine. My only issue with it is that you only get one copy of the coupons. It's good to get a couple of things for free/cheap, but not for stockpiling (which is what I coupon for).
You can buy a subscription to All You off most school fundraising sites for $20 for 2 years. I just did that to support my husband's old high school choir.

I forgot to tell you that YES there are sale trends. With each season the type of things that will be on sale will change and so will the type of coupons that you will see. The cycle lasts about 3 months. Very soon you will see more bakeing goods be on sale and things like soup. In November and December I try to get my entire yrs supply of sugar and spices.

Denvergirlie ~ being new to CO, can you please tell me if you can use 20 coupons of the same in one order? Or did you make several trips? In CA we could only use 3 of the same, and then they changed it to only 1 per order, which made it really difficult (lots of trips to get good deals!) One thing I do miss, they doubled $1.00 coupons, which they don't do here! Big bummer!!! That's how I got tons of freebies, with the $1.00 coupons doubled.
TIA
