I really don't have an answer to your question but I am excited to be starting FPU this Thursday at a local church. I really need to get motivated and on track!

i would pay to see him!
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I went to one of his LIVE events and it was sooo worth it! You should definitely go if you have the chance. He is really motivational, inspiring, and so funny! You will learn a lot and laugh your head off! It was worth every penny to me.

I would jump at the chance to see him. Even though the information is already available to me via his books, tv and radios shows. He is very motivating and inspiring.

Go have fun and learn a lot!

You can learn everything you need to know here.

However, the motivation you'll get from the live event is REALLY worth it!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I say if you can afford it without having to stretch yourself that you would probably find it beneficial.

Sure you can learn everything you need on the net or in books, but I'm sure this would give you a big kick in the pants.

I for one can miss his show every week on TV - I just need the little bit extra to get me going!

If you can swing it, go see him for sure. I'm somewhat new to him and working on our money makeover, but I'm no stranger to self-help and motivation...have been to many many seminars to see speakers. Zig Ziglar is by far one of my all-time favorites to see in person.

There's something to be said about being able to not only hear and see a speaker, but really get a feel for the emotion they're expressing. There's an intangible energy you get from being in the same room and seeing them up close.
