Default Dave Ramsey Show - I'm Debt Free scream total

An emailer asked Dave recently how much debt was paid off in 2008 on his show.

The callers *on air and screamed for* on the radio and TV show amounted to over $24,000,000.

    Totally awesome!!!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

    $24 million paid off

Wonder how much debt is out there with everyone? On mortgages? Consumer debt?

    Just curious.

I know that this is not a Suzy Orman forum. But i was surprised to hear the other when she was on Oprah that of the 224 people in the audience there was 2.2 million in credit card debit. Thats amazing!

24 millon paid off in one year is awesome. I wish we got Dave Ramsey here in Australia I like his principal, from what I have read on the forums and his website. We can't even get the books here.

There's a LOT of stories there.

Wow! Did he say how many people that covered?
Not exactly, just every caller who screamed "I'm Debt Free!" on Friday for the entire year, radio and combined. On average that's over $115,000 an hour (3 hour radio, 1 hour TV, 52 weeks)

Wow. That's a lot of debt paid off. Imagine how much it would be if we weren't in a recession.
