    Default I am so excited!!!

I signed up today to volunteer at the Dave Ramsey LIVE event coming on April 18th to Colorado Springs! It is an all day thing ~ training, and then the event. I attended last year and it was so much fun! I saw all the volunteers and wondered how they were able to do that. Turns out, you sign up at Dave's website. I can't wait!

    Anyone want to join me?

    very cool!

I'll have to talk to my partner and see if I couldn't talk him into doing this as well. Then perhaps we'll see you in person down there.

DH & I did in Dallas last year & it was great!!! Saved us $70!

At the start of the day, Dave came by to greet us. Then, the training took place & we got t-shirts to wear over clothes to ID us as volunteers as we help the attendees. After training, Dave made it back by to shake hands with each of us volunteers (only for a second, there are DOZENS UPON DOZENS of volunteers)!!!

DH & I worked the check in tables at the door as our 'jobs' and only missed the first 15 or so minutes of Dave's program. There are ushers, many book table sales operators, all kinds of roles to choose from.

All in all, it was a good day and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND being a volunteer. Each one gets a coupon for a free item (of under $20 value) or a nice discount for other items for your service. We were served pizza & sodas for lunch. Dinner was included, but DH wanted to go after we were done (Exhausting), so we didn't partake, or find out what was served.

    Enjoy!!!

QuadSquadMom ~ thanks so much for that info! Hadn't heard from anyone who has volunteered before, so good to know what a great time it will be. Can't wait to meet Dave! I am so excited about the event! I checked today and the volunteer status is now "FULL." I'm hoping Denvergirlie decided to sign up!

Alas, my partner really wasn't all that keen after all about the idea. We are debt free and are almost done with the FFEF. Next step is car replacement fund and land downpayment.

His reasoning was that we are pretty much bare bones and well under control, we have a plan and a goal and are working towards it and he just didn't want to "give up" a day to go and get "hyped" up about things we are already doing.

I can see his point too, we are on the straight and narrow and going down there would just cost us money in gas as well as take away the possibility of being productive around the house, etc.

I'm a bit bummed, tried to get him to go last year too, no success.

I like to surround myself with like minded people.. thus the reason I hang out on boards like these, it keeps me "fresh". For him, not so much.

So go and have a GREAT time, hope that it's super fun and then you can report back in.

    Default *update*

I just wanted to post an update on what happened Saturday at the event! It was awesome! I had a really great time! It was exciting to meet and work with so many like minded people who share the same passion as I do! Other than here, I don't get that opportunity. I got to meet Dave and that was really cool, too! I so enjoyed working with Dave's team, they are some incredible people. I helped with set-up, selling Dave's books, CD's, software, etc., sat in on most of the event, and then packed up at the end. It was fun talking to so many people who were attending the event and recommending things to them. I also worked directly with two really neat women volunteers that I hope to keep in touch with.

We had a really nice Italian dinner with Dave's team after the event was over, and it was interesting to hear some of their stories on how they travel around the country doing the live events.

I left my house at 8:00 a.m. and didn't get home until 8:30 that night! But the time flew by, and I already can't wait until next year! LOL!
