    Default Finally sold the house!!!!

OK, so it's an accepted offer...

So a lot of you probably remember the horrible time we had selling our house last year. We got rid of our realtors (well, they dropped us because we wouldn't drop our price another $19,000), had a baby, took a break from selling, and then put it back on the market this past Wed. with a new realtor. Thursday, after only our 2nd showing, they made an offer! We countered, they countered, and we accepted. So FINALLY the house is getting out from under us! Now to make it all the way to closing......

They want to close on Feb. 8, and we get 5 days occupancy rent-free, so we have to be out on Feb. 12 by midnight. Yikes! Thank goodness most of our stuff is packed due to the decluttering phase! We will (in all likelihood, 95% sure) be moving to MN to be closer to family. Once there, we have an almost rent-free place to stay with my grandparents until we find the next house. Yay! We will be working hard on that debt while there!

Congrats!! We just sold our home too - after firing a totally unmotivated realtor. Good luck with the move, we have all our stuff in storage while we look for a new place - ours happened so fast it was a blur!!!!(after 13 months on the market, we went from showing to moved out in under 25 days!)

AWESOME!! How do you stand to make out on the deal?
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Not the greatest, but at least we're coming out with money. After it's all said and done, we'll get around $4000 or $4500 in our pockets (which will be used toward the next house). We bought the house in '04 for $115,000, and sold it for $112,000. Not horrible, could have been a lot worse.

LOL Yeah, I know. But try renting anywhere, house or apt, when you have 4 children, homeschool, plus have 2 cats, a fish tank, and 2 guinea pigs. So... nearly free rent it is at my grandparents until we can get out of there and into our own place. We are praying we will have the chance to use that wonderful tax credit before the end of April, but if not, we won't be too sad. Every month we're with my grandparents is more time to pay off more debt. And a lot of it.
