I don't really see a conflict of interest but if he is hawking NEW cars than that goes against the advice he gives.
I also wonder if it can be an impersonation of him? It's amusing to think that DR is such a celebrity that there will be look-a-likes and sound-a-likes available at the nearest rent-a-celeb store. hehhehThe Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

When I hear the ad what I am hearing sounds like "This is Dave Ramsey" (he actually says that part) "I'm a financial advisor and it's ok to go into debt if you buy from this guy". That's not the actual wording, but it's the message I'm getting.
I suppose I shouldn't care what he does for money if it's not illegal, and I know his FPU and books are a business, but I respect him a lot less for pushing products that may not be the best deal around.Use it up, Wear it out,

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Here is an example of a DR Car Dealership ad I found on YouTube.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmO7J8HhXXI"]YouTube- YouTube Videos for Car Dealers[/ame]
"Hey Orlando, Dave Ramsey here. Have you run your clunker into the ground and now its time to upgrade? I know, our culture teaches us to live in the now, but folks, you shouldn't go from clunker to a brand new car unless you're out of debt and can pay cash for it. Hey even the average millionaire drives a used car..."If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

That's not the same ad they are running here. If I hear it again I will get details.

I seen the FPU commercial again today. It aired when I was watching The View and I hit the DVR button.
I just searched on youtube and couldn't find it.
I think the commercial was cool though. People talking about what it did for them or they didn't want to believe it at first. Something like that. DR said that it will work if you follow his advice type thing.

Yep, classic DR. He comes out and tells you that he's not teaching anything new. He's just good at teaching advice that's as old as the hills.

DR does a lot of local endorsements. He's a radio guy after all.

I have done FPU online I loved it, I also have the home kit I got when it was on sale. I've lent it out about 4 times to friends now i'd say I got my moneys worth and some friends got educated about finances for free.

I just started this last Sunday at my church. We had such a large turn out that they had to order more kits..I'll get mine next week. Looks like a very interesting program and can't wait to get into it.
