    Default Update on us

So we are in MN, finally moved after selling our house in January (closed Feb. 1 - 3 weeks after the offer!). Staying with my grandparents right now, so no rent (gotta love grandparents!). We got a hefty refund from our taxes this year. We usually take out extra to cover dh's side business, but this year he didn't make much at all. So with that, plus the couple thousand from selling the house, plus an escrow acct refund, and closing dh's side business acct (he quit it, hence no business income for a lot of the year), we've got A LOT of money stored away! He did find a job almost immediately, though! WOW! Talk about only God's timing in this! Today was orientation, and tomorrow is his first "real" day of work. He will be getting paid weekly. I didn't even know anyone still did that! So that will be interesting trying to figure out how to budget. But that's OK, I have my budget sheet, and we will just adjust dates and bills to work out the way they need to go. Shouldn't be TOO bad of an adjustment, right??? Hopefully someone has some tips to make it easier....

So we are just laying low this week after looking at some houses around the area. We are looking for at least an acre with a house that doesn't need a lot of fixing up (a little is OK) because we have other things God has called us to do that require our attention more than fixing up a house. But this is proving to be nearly impossible in our price range. So like I said, we are laying low this week, letting dh get accustomed to his job and what he'll be doing (GREAT benefits, btw!), and seeing what God has in mind. There are 2 we really like, but we can't agree, and neither has acreage.

So that is our life at the moment! It's been an interesting year so far...

Re budgeting for weekly pay cheques, i would take all your monthly bills and split them by how many weeks in the month, and then just pay everything...tricky the first time because the cash flow might not match the date bills are due but once you get a bit of wriggle room, it should be fine.

    Good luck!

You have had a lot going on! It's good that you are not having to pay rent right now. (Yay for grandparents!) Good luck on your search for a new home. Thanks for the update!
