So it seems I post about this a lot....

So the short sale we are supposed to get either an update or a yes/no answer early next week. This staying with grandparents thing is getting old very fast.... If this house is a no, we are trying to figure out if it would be best to rent for a while and/or find our land up north (which is our ultimate goal). We still have our debt (see my siggie), which we are working hard at paying off. Renting is going to throw a wrench in things as it's much more expensive right now to rent than to pay a house payment. But if we go straight up north, then we have no job. We are just trying to figure out what the best strategy is for us. Hubby's job is definitely temporary, and we know that now for sure after today (another story), so he is researching what kinds of jobs are up north. Our end goal is to be self-sufficient on our own land. If we buy our land, we will probably have payments unless it takes us a while to find it and we can save up enough cash to buy it. But then we'll need to build a house on the land, too, but alternative, cheaper housing than the typical new homes. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Of course, this may all be for naught if the house does end up going through, but we are preparing for a real possibility that God will shut that door next week.

Thanks! And let me know if I'm forgetting something important here. We have been talking circles around this for a while...
