Online vs in person
I really want to take a FPU class. I'm trying to get DH on board. Do you think that it is better to take the class in person with a group or online?

definately in person for me. There are group discussions. Also, I love watching the dvd's of him. It almost seems he is there.

When trying to get a spouse on board I have found these tips to be helpful. Some will work for you some will not.
make sure your S.O is helping create the budget. If you do it alone they may feel you are telling them, not involving them.
Tell him how much you appreciate the efforts and scarifices for him to do this. I found this to be very important with my wife.
Tell him how important it is to you.
Personally, I gave my wife the credit.Russ

I finished my in-person class Sunday. I have not taken the online class.
My wife was a little resistant to the whole idea, but later appreciated "me dragging her" to FPU. We're better able to talk about money matters now and are at least in the same chapter, if not page.
Also, for something that you both don't really want to do, I think it is easier to force yourselves to go to an in-person class. I think it might be easier to blow off watching an online segment and then stuff comes up and then the subscription has ended.

Thanks everyone! My husband is definitely on board with budgeting and stuff. In fact I used to be the one that was the big spender while he was much more frugal. Now I feel like our roles have almost reversed!
We did talk about it and decided that in person was the best way to go for us. We compared it to a bible study we did. We did one that was at our church with other couples. Then we tried to start one with just the two of us.... that was in June... we're on day 6
