I'm Excited To Go See Dave!
Real Debt Help - Get out of debt with Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover Plan - daveramsey.com
You'd think we won the greatest concert tickets in the world!
We're going to see Dave tomorrow, LIVE, and I just think it's one of the coolest adventures EVER!
This is going to be GREAT!
I enjoyed the FPU classes just watching the dvds - so I'm stoked about really being in the audience -
I'm curious to find what we learn in FIVE hours worth of Dave! Geez, I can feel my butt ache already....

oh, and for the record, no, we didn't spend $39 on tickets. eek. I'm way too cheap for that! We got a promo price of $9!!!Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die

You are going to have a blast, I'm so excited for you!!!!!!! The excitement in the arena is so much fun! I've gone twice, attended once and then volunteered the following year. You will laugh a lot and learn a lot, and the time will fly! Way to go on getting the promo price!
Dave didn't come our way again this year
, and I really missed working the event. Hoping he'll come back in the spring. Now don't forget to come back and tell us all about it! Have an awesome time!!

Ok, I'm up & dressed & waiting til it's time to leave
I'm floored over the five hrs? I guess we'll see.....
I was more worried that I'll spend 5 hrs listening to the same thing that we watched in FPU class.... but even if that's the case, it's ok - cause it's LIVE. It'll be fun regardless.
I'll give an update when we get home tonight.

well, it was cool! Really cool!
I was so floored over how many people were there.
As far as what he spoke about, I'm sorry to say that I didn't learn anything new- it was basically a condensed version of fpu, and only hit the highlights with not much detail..... BUT that's ok, it was still a great date night for hubby & I.
it was 5 1/2 hrs long, with 20 minute breaks every 1 1/2 or so.
they gave away a complete fpu kit to an audience member, also a book set to another audience member.
There was a section for the radio station winners (640 am) and 5 of those audience members won $1000. & ONE person won $10,000. THAT was cool!!!!
while people watching, it appeared that the median age range was 35-45ish.
the only negative (imo) was the sales pitch of the kits & books & etc.
(as Dave would say) I'm not mad at Dave, he's got to make money also, but eek.
I went to one of the many tables offering Dave kits.... numerous types.... to ask about the fpu jr for $20 - they only had it as a set with the extra kid books for $50 - I get that, but I don't want to spend $50, I wanted to spend $20. She tried to sell me on the "deal" of the $50. Then I asked about the book geared for teens, they didn't have it there, which is fine, I'll go online - but then she tried to sell me the "marriage kit"
ugg.
I HATE sales. really, if I WANT it, I'll buy it.
other than that - it was GREAT!

Glad you had such a good time! Hope you had a lot of laughs! Those prizes are really amazing!
I've never taken FPU so it was more relevant I think for me. When I worked the event we didn't hard sell or push anything on anyone, just answered questions when asked. Dave's team didn't ask or expect anyone to hard sell or push his materials ~ weird how that happened at yours! I'm sure Dave will be talking about the awesome Atlanta event on today's radio show.

My hubby and I went too to see Dave on 10/2 in Atlanta.. it was great!!!
I agree the sales pitch was a little much and we didn't really learn anything new since we have taken FPU... but to see him live was really fun.. his show was full of energy!
