TMMO is the most popular currently. I have Financial Peace, and I love it.

I prefer TMMO but both are wonderful books and deliver the same good, common sense information. I think Financial Peace offered a more personal side to his story. (It's been a while since I read through it.)
The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.
Onboard with a modified Dave Ramsey Plan
Budget: "Every month! On paper, on purpose!"
Gardening somewhere between Zone 6b and 7a.

Consider this another vote for Total Money Makeover.
Congratulations on making this decision! If you stick to his plan, you won't regret it.

Financial Peace and Total Money Make Over, I'd check with your local library. They ususally have several copies of his books.

Is there really THAT much else in TMMO besides the Baby Steps that make it worth purchasing? Just wondering since the baby steps seem to be what's talked about most and they're not exactly a secret you can only get from the book.

I vote TMMO too...and even though yes, you can get the gist of the baby steps elsewhere,I really would encourage you to pick up a copy to have on hand and refer to....we all need re-inspriring sometimes! Don't forget to check eBay and half.com to see where you can find it cheapest...you could even ask for a copy on freecycle.com, you never know, someone may be willing to pass on a copy for free (and so the frugality begins....)

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
Greebo(Nerd Spender): Loving and extremely patiently tolerated husband of ceashels.
