Living the Dave Ramsey way means my kids know how to create fun without having to turn on a TV.

I have been lurking and reading through much of the forums, got a copy of the DR TMM book to motivate me, and just feel the "need" to add to this today....
...the DR way means....
Going through the bank drive-thru to deposit another $700 to finish funding the BEF and chuckling quietly at the nice bank lady who says she's reminding everyone today about the big "loan sale" that ends tomorrow and goes on to say she's sending out a brochure and if I can't use it, I should pass it along to someone who can. All the while I'm chuckling and thinking, Oh I just bet you would like to sell me some debt - on sale LOL - so next time I'm paying you rather than paying myself!! (plus you'd like me to do the legwork to find someone else - two birds with one shot??)

working my modified DR plan has taught me to be more aware of how I spend my money, and to be more focused on my goal of getting out of debt.
DR, his plan, and the FV forums have given me the tools and support I need to comfortably survive the job down-times that have been a part of my life these past few years.Jen

Living life the Dave Ramsey way means that it is not just lip service, but real knowledge and understanding, to be able to say debt is dumb and cash is king!!!!!
Right is right even if no one else is doing it. Wrong is wrong even if everyone else is doing it.
IF IT IS TO BE.....IT IS UP TO ME

... that when your best friends find out that a dear friend of theirs is not long for this earth, you are able to offer to assist them in flying to see them one last time, and not worry about where the money to do so will come from.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

...that when your friend's newborn only lives a few moments, therefore the rider on their company life insurance on dependents doesn't kick in until the child is 14 days old and they have the expense of a funeral, you are able to help a little.

Living the DR way means doing it the way you always knew deep down was the right way but somehow rationalized round it.
