Default I hate you today Dave...

Well, we have reluctantly decided to throw some dynamite in the river to get rid of the log jam to get rid of the last part of BS2 and get some way up BS3 but it is a miserable day today, but I'm sure when we fly from Scotland to Tennessee to celebrate completing BS6 it will be worthwhile.
Trying to post pics but not allowed. Amputating the 06 5 series msport. Going for something about £10k less expensive.
    Bye bye baby...
I need some distractions to take my mind off it, and other good free DR internet resources to look at?

I thought that way breifly too when I had to clean out my little stockpile of money and send the entire amount (besides the $1000 baby EF) to my last bill. I had been stockpiling money because things didn't look so good at work, but when after year I was still there, I couldn't stall it any longer, and I just payed off the loan in one mean, hard-to-swallow payment. It was so hard to let go of that much money! I'd never had that much money in my savings account in my life. Two months on the other side of that, debt freedom feels so liberating! I have a new passion to pay MYSELF toward my 8-month emergency fund. I have new skills to help me save even more money than ever before. I feel like a responsible, well-prepared ADULT. I listen to DR on my ipod (streaming his radio show) every single weekday and I read the Village (not much time for other sites, even though I belonged to the DR one for a year), and that keeps me inspired.

I wish you well on your journey. Congratulations on completing BS2.
Totally debt free since January 2011.

Way to go! We sold the 06 650 and now have a Prius so I feel your pain on that one! lol Though I do have to say paying cash for the Prius softened the blow substantially!

I really hated selling off the stocks that was a gift from my father. Greebo was able to get me to sell off everything BUT the original shares I had. It was very difficult to reach that point but I'm very glad we did it now that the time has passed and we are off BS2.

hugs to you.... you can always pay cash for one later.

That's gotta hurt. I feel with you.

But I guess you will enjoy a 2014 5 msport paid for with cash (although it may be a second-hand one in great condition) quite a bit more, eh?

As Dave says - children do what feels good now - adults devise a plan and follow it.

You're taking the pain now for a greater reward later. Stick to it!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Thought I'd better clarify, I haven't sold it yet, just put it up for sale the day I posted this topic but that took a lot of emotional effort, and to stop trying to rationalize it by telling myself it does 47mpg etc. We have resigned ourselves to it now and we are looking forward to the day it sells to make some real progress. Keeping my eyes peeled for a cheap possibly faulty nissan x-trail to pick up, theres one been traded in to the nissan dealer up the road and it has a faulty diesel commonrail pump and it has too high miles to retail, I hope the bmw sells quick so I can go in with a lowball offer as I know where I can get a pump cheap from a wrecked car.

Well the thing still hasn't sold, dropped the price gradually by £2000. I'm not going to drop it any more as I'm not going to give it away, it just wouldn't make sense as it is a very good car so it looks like we just need to knuckle down and work through it unless it picks up in summer, the dealers I spoke to said that after the harsh winter we just had BMW values have plummeted due to them being useless in winter so the better weather might help.

Anyone on here want to celebrate BS3b by buying our car?

Yay, sold it, nearly done BS3 now, and picked up a nice diesel 03 x-trail for £3000. Just in time too as we will need to push pause on the baby steps...
