Whats your blow money amount?
I'm sitting here going back and forth about the amount...I sometimes get my hair dyed and cut...which costs 150.00 everytime I go...thinking of stretching it out between visits if I stay my natural dark brown...we are really wanting this mortgage gone...so trying to do the bare minimums...thinking of $200 per month and just wanted some thoughts on this...it also covers clothing I may need.Janine

100 a month
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

$30 a month...
That is just for going out with friends though. Haircuts and such come out of the "misc" fund.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

$15 a week for him. I wasn't taking anything since I was trying to beat the debt down to zero.
Now that it's gone, I'll start taking $15 a week too
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Is it a bad thing to put haircuts and clothing into the blow catagory? I did this to keep the number of envelopes down lol.

No, it just depends on how you manage your money and what works for you. My envelopes are: utilities, fuel (for cars), his allowance, my allowance, groceries, misc, and eating out. Anything that can't be eaten (car parts/repairs, haircuts, clothes, etc) comes out of the "misc" envelope.

$75/month, I don't usually spend all of it. Hair cuts are already budgeted.

That I understand....maybe the months I need a cut/color, just give it a name in the monthly budget. Thanks!!

We do $20 each per week, DH and me, but it is truly blow money for stuff like stopping for ice cream, cappucino, and anything we personally want to buy like my craft supplies and things like that. Haircuts, dining out, clothing, and such all have their own amt budgeted.

DH gets 20 bucks a week. That's for drinks and junk food at the convenient stores, pops at work and bowling money. (well that's what he uses it for.)
Me? LOL
