Default We are officially in gazelle intense mode!

and I think it was a serious wakeup call for him. Last night while I was asleep he decided to figure out our current $$ situation since we got our federal check. We were behind on some of our bills and will have to use our entire check to get back on track, plus pay off some bills-such as the exterminator, furniture and HOA. Good news though is that the IRS is paid! DH was not happy though that we were behind and blamed a lot of it on me. I know I am at fault but he is to blame too. He will just go out and write checks without even checking with me or checking the balance on the account. I know I am to blame too and so we finally came together this morning and sat down and made a plan. A REAL plan and wrote down all of the debts. We put the checkbooks and debit card in a lock box in the closet to be used only when paying bills and we will use cash only. It feels good to actually be on the same page this time and we are both really into it. And it felt good to go make a payment on the furniture. And now I think DH is getting excited about paying our debt off and now he knows exactly what it is and how we can work paying it off. We are officially in Gazelle mode! DH wants to have a yard sale this weekend and I started to clean things out. And you know what? I swear my house looked cleaner today than it has in a long time and we both are feeling positive. It goes to show that when you finally get fed up-you get to work!

Good for you that you're working on this together! I wish you luck on your financial goals.

You go girl!! Sounds like you have a good game plan and it is great that you and your hubby are on the same page. Do you already listen to the Dave Ramsey radio show? If not, it would give you so much motivation to keep going. You can listen online at DaveRamsey.com if you don't get his show where you live.

This sounds like where dh and I were 4 years ago. It has been a long hard struggle but by this time next year, we should be out of all debt except for the mortgage and it feels awesome. I can't wait to truly be out of debt and feel that freedom!!!

    Keep it up. (((hugs)))
