Default Just a debt reduction update....

Dh and I have one c.c . It has a HUGE balance on it due to several things including my moms illness and death. The balance was $14,000 and change. In two months time we have been able to pay off.....drum roll please........

$6,700 of it. So its still a big balance and we were going to add the stimulus check to it but our stimulus check is not correct and we got an unexpected bill this month which we paid in full, so now I wont have big money to throw at the c.c but will keep plugging along. It will take us awhile yet to pay the rest off but we are determined too!!!

Excellent progress. I just took over 1/2 of my CC balance and transferred it a 0% card. Maybe you could give this a try. My goal is to pay it all down this year, but the 0% balance will help not waste money towards interest .

This experience will strengthen your relationship with your spouse. When we were first married we go into trouble with a cc and had to work hard for a year to pay it off. Paying it off together by setting goals and actions really gave us a stronger bond. I definitely wouldn't go back, but looking back I see that it was a good lesson for us both.

Hang in there and congratulations on your accomplishiment!!!!

I agree with Marie, try and see if you can do this first. If not, call your CC company, now that you have gotten your balance down, maybe they will take a smaller % rate than you are paying now. Can't hurt, all they can say is no.

WTG that is a terrific success story!

Oh my gosh, $6,700 in two month's time??? That's beyond awesome! Keep up the good work.
