Commerce Bank?
Does anyone have accounts with this brick & mortar bank?

We just got a booklet informing us that TD BankNorth (our bank) is merging (yet again) with them, changing name etc and in their FAQ's, they won't give a straight answer about the changes to current accounts, fees etc.
We need to order checks (no, still haven't done that) and if Commerce Bank is horrid, or charge fees, we will change banks.

I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

No, but I mystery shop them often. Depending on the type of account you're going to have (balances, etc...) they have great deals.

I've never had a problem with Commerce. I just have a basic checking account.
I just reopened an account (lived out of state) and they're giving me free checks....

We have our "household emergency" checking account with Commerce. We use a credit union for our regular checking and savings accounts, but they didn't have safe deposit boxes, so we went to Commerce with this special account, which is where tax returns and other "found" money goes. We love using the coin counting machine with the kids, and the whole bank is a pleasant place with amazing hours.

I have a seperate checking account there that is used for one purpose. They do have free checking.
The only negative is be careful when you deposit. Your funds may not show up for like two days so you could bounce a check even if the money has been deposited. Like say on Friday and it may not show up until monday.

Oh, and they also put a 10 day hold on checks deposited to new accounts.
This hold period is for the first 30 days of opening the account.
