    Default never hurts to ask

earlier this month I paid a large chunk to the credit card.. it was after last months due date but before the new statement... I knew it but then I put off paying the minimum until the last day...oops

I went online and got an error message so when I was able to pay it it was 3:09 ET nine minutes late.

I called and they took the $39 late fee off the next day... Thank you Capital One.

so call and ask you never know when they will say it is their fault or just forgive you for your mistake.

Capital One is great for taking off late fees, never happened to me but a friend of mine called a few times and they waived the late fee each time.

I'm glad they did that for you. Capital One is one of my favorite cc cards tho a lot of other people don't like them.

My motto is "you don't ask, you don't get".
    My son hated that saying.
" May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."

It's nice to hear of a credit card company that helps out their customers instead of taking a hard line. Every little bit helps.
