    Default No one to tell!!

I can't help but feeling proud & have no one to tell (no one would understand).

My husband and I now have our new roof & patio door fund fully funded at $4,000.00. We have our $1,000.00 baby emergency fund fully funded. We have $500.00 saved up to cover at home expenses (mortgage etc) for when we are on vacation and my husband won't get paid. We have $200.00 saved up for a friends wedding (that dh and I are both in) and our camping vacation expenses (gas, food etc) (we will split that money as it needs to be as we are unsure of how much that will cost right now - have to figure it out).

We have NEVER been this on top of things - ever!! Our combined income is very low (the lowest we've ever had it), yet we seem to be better off than when we earned more money. It's not how much you make, its what you do with what you make. My husband use to be a trucker, but couldn't handle being away from his family so much and he was very stressed out. He settled for a lower paying job (almost pays half as much) and for the first few months we were sinking bad ... we thought he was going to have to find something else, which stressed him out again. I joined this site and read a couple books and just started doing the best we can and we are doing it. We finally get it, it wasn't the amount of money we are making, it was what we did with that money!! Never had we planned things out ie. saving for a house repairs - use to just be more carefree - oh put it on the credit card, put it on the line of credit etc etc etc ... I just had to be able to tell someone!!

Congrats! If I were you...I'd be standing on my new roof and shouting to everyone who would listen that I had paid cash for it!

Good for you guys on buckling down and making things work! DH and I have realized that in the last year, that it isn't how much you make, it's what you do with whatever you make! We found out that we can live on very little and still be satisfied and happy!

That is so great! And I'm glad your DH has a better job. Better doesn't always mean higher paying.
