    Ty everyone.

With that money going into savings, DH both have the amounts needed for each of us to have our own EF. Part of mine happens to be sitting in DH's savings account because I added two of them together.

Why do you both need an EF?

    You're one household, right?
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Yep. We're one household. I like having two EFs in case something happens to one and we have the other to fall on. Part of the money in DH's account came from what we spent on DS #2's dental, which originally came out of my account. I have more cash that I'm sticking into my savings account to even it out by the mid of August.

In a joint account, either person can access the money. There's no need for 2 EF's.

We actually have two separate savings accounts. It's just the money I used for DS' dental is sitting in DH's savings because he's a dork and didn't transfer the money to my account yet.

    Bah it's too complicated.
