Making money last
Hi from Kentucky, I have a question I live on a single monthly income and how could I budget my money to make it last the entire month. The money is gone before the month is over.

If you were to post your budget and income we could help you determine what you are working with. Also dates you get paid.
Welcome.

You need to make a budget that maps out how you will spend your monthly income, and more importantly, stick to it.
If you will ,as Lex requested, post your income and expenses, we can help.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Well your in the right place. Use the envelope system. I have a Manilla envelope w/several regular envelopes inside it. Each envelope has a purpose. One is for the utility bills, other for the credit card payments, food, gas and last FUN money. Once you use up your money that's it. Or you can borrow from the rest. You can add a savings one. Usually I add one for back to school clothes or vacation. Make a budget and try to stick to it. It takes a couple of months to grasp. Also look up the recepies that are frugal and get creative.

Be sure you know where the money is going. It can be a pain, but for a month or two write down every penny you spend. That both lets you see where the little unnoticed "money leaks" are, and can be the basis for a solid and workable budget.

I too would advocate a budget that you can stick to, I have also found that keeping track of where every penny goes really opened my eye's up to where I was spending (I truely thought that I never wasted any money - boy was it an eye opener) once you realise what you are doing you can proactively take steps to change your behaviour and this helps you to stick to a budget.
